Address crime, health & safety issues confronting business owners, customers and the general public in downtown Hilo. Committee representatives are from the Police Department, Prosecuting Attorney, Parks and Recreation, County Council, and representatives of private business and nonprofit organizations. Committee provides education to help businesses with security and safety issues. Examples would be report filing, trespass, handling hostile people, shoplifting, business hardening, natural disaster plans. Committee meets monthly on the second Thursday at 4:00p.m.
