The location for our Night Market is one block up from The Hilo Farmers’ Market on ‘the corner of Mamo street and Kilauea avenue where One Gallery, Still Life Books andHawaiian Force are located. The street in front of these stores will be closed to traffic for the night.
‘Earth’ shall be the first of 4 themed ‘Night Markets’ This month’s ‘Earth’ theme will see a drum circle and a belly dancer on the street around 7pm.
From 5pm at the space at #130 Kilauea Avenue there will be an art show of community work on the theme of ‘Earth.’ For the evening, crafter & artist vendors will bring shopping and art together: Unusual one of a kind jewelry and other crafts will be sold. Meet a Chinese calligrapher and see his bamboo flutes for sale. There will also be Hawaiian tea and tea-ware for sale for sale by a tea specialist.
Espresso coffees, hot chocolates, tea and chai will be available. For fans of Peruvian tamales, you can get a plate of them at our Night Market.
We encourage vendors, artists or craftspeople who want to participate in this or future markets. We are also looking for talented food vendors to help spice up our upcoming Night Markets with tasty food choices. Prices are from $5 for a space for the night for vendors to participate and help our market get going.
